Hi, guys. This is Rick from Pure Elements Water. Let’s talk for a second about salt-free water softeners. Oops. There is actually no such thing as a salt-free water softener.
Several companies in our industry today are loosely attaching the term softener after the words, “salt-free.” There is either a salt-free water conditioning process, where you alter the state of the hard water minerals to gain benefits. Or there is a traditional salt-based water softener, which is truly the softening process and requires sodium or potassium chloride, both of which are salts.
If someone tries to sell you a “salt-free water softener,” we advise you to call us immediately. We’ll help you figure out if a water softener or water conditioner is best for your needs.
